Challenge your limits at Forestal Park Tenerife
Forestal Park Tenerife is the largest adventure theme park in the Canaries. It is set in the protected area of Las Lagunetas, in the town of El Rosario, surrounded by canary pine trees and a magnificent landscape. It has over 90 games in height, Tibetan bridges, footbridges, skill games, different platforms 30 meters above the ground and zip lines of several hundred meters. A leisure activity for everyone in the heights, including Tarzan Swings and flying down ziplines right at the gates of Teide National Park. They are all arranged in circuits of different degrees of difficulty, designed for all members of the family and even for the most athletic ones. No special physical preparation is necessary since the games are designed so that anyone can overcome them.
I visit the park for the first time this summer when my son was invited to his friend’s birthday. A great way to celebrate an 8th years old boy’s birthday, get in touch with nature while showing everyone how adventurist you are!
Both parents and children loved the entire experience so much! The staff was really friendly. They gave us an explicit safety briefing first, where the instructor explained the features of the course and equipment and told us how to climb, how safely to cross obstacles and fly down ziplines. In every activity, we were connected to a continuous safety system to keep us attached at all times. Yes, safety is taken very seriously when you and your children are walking on ropes 30 meters above the ground.
After the safety briefing, we then all had about two and a half hours to enjoy whichever course we preferred. There are two types of courses. Family and sports courses, divided by level of difficulty and marked in specific colours-green, blue, red and black ratings.
Family courses are for participants 1.10m in height and 5 years old and up. These are perfect for families, school groups or adults who have never had an adventure like this before and want to train their abilities to deal with higher and more complicated courses.
It comprises 30 crossings with climb walls, swinging surprises, hanging nets, suspension bridges and ziplines in three modules, which get constantly higher and more challenging. We enjoyed ourselves a lot at the family courses, lost track of time and bond as a group. The fresh air and the quiet nature are just healing.
Now, the sport courses are something else. Designed for teenagers and adults with a compulsive desire for excitement and adventure, who want to experience it all!
There are 50 crossings, including five modules, each of which gradually increases the level of difficulty, both in height and skills.
If you dare trying the sport courses, you will encounter 5 Giant ziplines, including the largest zipline in the Canary Islands,more than 200 meters above the ground, and a large Tarzan Swing that will definitely put your fear of heights to the test. All the difficult steps ,marked in black, can be avoided thanks to loopholes, this way you can finish every trail choosing the route best suited to your abilities.
